At Gingerbread House Preschool, we believe in the dignity and intrinsic worth of every child and every family. We are committed to creating a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive community where children feel safe, valued, and accepted.

We welcome children and families of all abilities, races, ethnicities, cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, religions and non-religious traditions, family structures, gender expressions, citizenship and immigration backgrounds, and life experiences. We have a longstanding tradition of welcoming families with gay and lesbian parents, single-parent families, adoptive families, and families of all income levels.

We believe that children benefit from learning and growing alongside people whose families, backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives may be different from their own. Through kindness, respect, and positive relationships, we help children learn to appreciate both the similarities and the differences among us.

Our goal is to provide a caring environment in which every child and family knows that they belong.

“Our daughter went 4 years to this wonderful school…Each year, from the 2s class to Jr Kindergarten, we observed our daughter learn so many wonderful things at gingerbread, from hand signs, to using the scissors, to learning to color, understanding patterns, developing an interest in cooking…teaching her the right way to hold a pencil, to sitting criss cross, art work, projects, group play, every day bringing back tons of activity sheets, outdoor play and snow day activities, kids appeared really happy and energized as they came outside after school…One can’t summarize so many great things in a few paragraphs, we are indebted to Gingerbread…”
